The International Children's Festival “Čarobna Frula” and the co-organizer CeKaTe (Zagreb Music Center in Trešnjevka) and the Croatian Composers Society’ – will host the “Čarobna Frula” International Children's Festival in Zagreb 2017, from 1 to 3 December 2017 in Zagreb, Park Stara Trešnjevka 1.
“Čarobna Frula” International Children's Festival is the solo singing festival of children's songs, community spirit, joy and friendship. It is competitive and humanitarian in nature, intended for children soloists between the ages of 3 and 15 who are to perform quality, original children's songs appropriate for their age live at the festival.
The songs and contestants will be chosen by a multi-numbered panel of renowned experts in the field of music and art.
The festival consists of two semi-final competitions and one final competition.
In the semi-finals and the final part of the festival, the contestants will compete in 4 categories:
Depending on the number of registered competitors, there will also be a duet category.
Relevance to a particular category is determined by the date of birth or the contestants’ age at the time of the festival.
The compositions submitted by contestants can be previously performed and published.
The duration of the submitted songs may not exceed 3 minutes and 30 seconds. At the festival, the contestants sing live with an instrumental matrix (matrices allow for the accompanying vocals and/or accompanying choir).
The same song can be performed only once during the “Čarobna Frula” International Children's Festival 2017. The first candidate who applies with a particular song has the right to perform it.
The song performed in the semi-final competition must be the same one that the contestant will perform in the finals.
Authors and performers of selected compositions shall give the organizer the right to perform, print and transmit the mentioned compositions through media and television without territorial restrictions, as well as to record them on sound carriers, that is to transfer all or some of these rights to a third party at no charge.
According to the jury’s decision, each category of both semi-finals will be awarded the first, second and third prize, and the competitor(s) with the highest number of points will perform in the final competition. Jury judgments will be publicly announced.
All participants in the semi-final competitions will receive a medal, a diploma and a suitable present from the sponsors.
In the final competition, the contestants will be evaluated by the professional children's jury who will award them prizes.
The jury's decisions are final.
Awards do not include money.
Final competition participants get a diploma, a trophy/plaque and/or a suitable present.
The Organizing Committee of the “Čarobna Frula” International Children's Festival is free to award special prizes.
The organizer of the “Čarobna Frula” International Children's Festival reserves the right to reproduce and publish festival records or their parts on television and radio stations, Youtube, Facebook and other social networks, as well as to record video and audio material during the competition, and publish or reproduce it as a festival material.
Parents or other companions of the contestants are responsible for their behaviour, safety and health, as well as the behaviour, safety and health of the competitors they are accompanying.
By submitting the application, the competitor and his legal representative agree with the rules and conditions of the festival.
The costs of arrival and accommodation are to be covered by the contestants themselves. The organizer will offer accommodation to the contestants and their companions at a reasonable price.
The organizer reserves the right to modify the tender and propositions.
The registration fee for the performers and the song is 375 HRK (50€ for payments outside the Republic of Croatia) which includes the festival organization costs, while a part of the amount will be donated to the Homes for abandoned children – “Domovi Karmelićanki.”
The registration fee must be paid after the commission board has selected the contestants and the songs and has notified them by e-mail containing detailed instructions, but not later than October 15, 2017 at IBAN: HR7524840081135027621, Raiffeisenbank Austria Zagreb or SWIFT: RZBHHR2X for payments outside the Republic of Croatia.
